Wallet does not open despite correct PIN

Description

having 6 wallets in Firefly. One only, the first one issues the failure message:

I have created a new wallet and used the .json file from the faulty wallet. I got into the wallet, but after logout I realised I was in the faulty one and no new wallet was created.... the fault remained.

Unfortunate I did not find anything to clear the faulty wallet.

Do I really need to de- and reinstall FIREFLY ?
