SC2Arcade provides StarCraft II arcade lobby and match result information through the community SC2 Arcade watcher project. dsstats uses this data to improve rating context.
Thank you to the SC2Arcade data providers for making this possible.
dsstats imports supported Direct Strike public match data and maps known game variants into dsstats game modes such as Standard, Commanders, and CommandersHeroic.
This helps with:
- Player strength estimation.
- Rating context for games where not every player uploads to dsstats.
- Combined rating calculations.
- Historical public lobby coverage from 2021-02-01 onward.
The useful imported set focuses on Direct Strike games with enough player and duration information to be meaningful for ratings. The classic high-signal case is 6-player 3v3 games lasting at least 5 minutes.
- SC2Arcade data comes from public Blizzard/arcade information and can have missing or incorrect matches.
- Public match result data is available from 2021-02-01 onward.
- Private lobbies are not fully covered.
- TE map lobbies are often private, so SC2Arcade is less useful for TE-specific ratings.
- SC2Arcade does not know commander picks, builds, replay leavers, or replay-derived details; dsstats uploads provide that.
