Desktop IPFS begins to prevent browsers from resolving URLs #2962

@heEXDe

Description

@heEXDe
  • OS: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
  • Version of IPFS Desktop 0.43.0 (AppImage)

Describe the bug
After about 5 - 7 minutes of operation, desktop IPFS starts to prevent web browsers from resolving URLs. It is not possible to open web pages.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. start the IPFS Desktop
  2. wait 5 to 10 minutes
  3. try opening any website (e.g., “google.com”) in any browser
  4. page loading should fail

Additional context

  1. Tests performed on the following browsers:
  • Brave 1.79.126 (64 bits)
  • Firefox 139.0.4 (64 bits)
  1. The browsers have been installed and run as part of the Flatpak system (sandboxing).
  2. The file “error.log” did not contain logs from the day the error occurred, so I do not include it.
  3. The attached “combined.log” file contains logs from the day the error occurred. The missing (cut) line contained the PeerID.
