Description

When I try to run it like this

ipfs daemon --enable-namesys-pubsub --mount --cid-base=32 --upgrade-cidv0-in-output

it does not start listening on the gateway port (8088 in my case), and the output at startup doesn't say anything about the gateway either. If I leave off the --mount argument, it works.

I cannot reproduce it.
I think maybe the mount is failing and it get stuck instead of erroring.

Right: I had tried setting ipfs config --json Mounts.FuseAllowOther to true, so when I run ipfs daemon as a regular user, probably it's not allowed to set that mode. Setting it back to false fixes it.

Anyway, failure to mount ought to result in an error message, right?

2022-09-08 triage conversation: given this only happening on Linux with invalid permissions' setup with functionality that isn't enabled by default, this isn't a priority for the core maintainers currently, but if someone from the community cares to debug and fix this, we are happy to review PR.
