Code of Conduct

As a contributor or participant in the Churnobyl project, we expect you to adhere to the following Code of Conduct to ensure a positive and inclusive community experience for everyone involved.

Our Pledge

We are committed to creating an open and welcoming environment where all individuals can freely express their ideas, collaborate, and learn from one another. We value diversity in all its forms and treat each other with respect and kindness.

Expected Behavior

While contributing to the project or participating in any project-related activities, we expect all individuals to:

  1. Be Respectful: Treat others with kindness, respect, and empathy. Disagreements and constructive criticism are welcome, but do so in a constructive and courteous manner.

  2. Be Inclusive: Embrace diversity and inclusivity. Everyone is welcome, regardless of their background, identity, experience, or beliefs.

  3. Be Collaborative: Foster a collaborative and supportive community. Help each other, share knowledge, and learn together.

  4. Be Open-Minded: Be open to new ideas and perspectives. Listen to others and be willing to consider alternative viewpoints.

  5. Be Professional: Keep discussions and interactions professional and focused on the project's goals. Avoid personal attacks, harassment, or any form of disrespectful behavior.

Unacceptable Behavior

The following behaviors are considered unacceptable within the Churnobyl project community:

  1. Harassment: Any form of harassment, whether verbal, physical, or written, is strictly prohibited. This includes offensive comments, discrimination, and unwelcome advances.

  2. Trolling and Disruption: Deliberately causing disruptions, trolling, or engaging in any behavior that hinders productive discussions is not allowed.

  3. Hate Speech: Hate speech, offensive language, or any other form of communication that promotes discrimination or harm to others is unacceptable.

  4. Plagiarism: Taking credit for someone else's work, ideas, or contributions without proper attribution is not permitted.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

If any participant is found to be in violation of this Code of Conduct, project maintainers reserve the right to take appropriate actions, which may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Warning: The individual may be issued a warning regarding their behavior and asked to rectify it.

  2. Temporary Ban: In severe cases, a temporary ban may be imposed, restricting the individual from participating in the project for a specified period.

  3. Permanent Ban: For repeated or extreme violations, a permanent ban from the project may be implemented.

Reporting and Enforcement

If you witness or experience any behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the project maintainers via email.

All reports will be reviewed and treated confidentially. We will investigate the issue and take appropriate actions as necessary. We are committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all contributors and participants.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all interactions within the Churnobyl project, including but not limited to GitHub repositories, issue discussions, pull requests, project meetings, and any other project-related activities.

By participating in this project, you are expected to uphold and adhere to this Code of Conduct.
