Transitions not working on navigation button click

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Install the latest version
2. Open carousel in chrome/incognito(chrome)/edge browser
3. Click on navigation buttons to change the slide and the transition effect doesn't work while it works on clicking pagination buttons.

Expected behavior
Transitions should work on clicking the navigation arrow buttons.

Bug Debug log
After debugging a lot, I found that defining the --vc-transition-duration locally fixes this issue and transitions start working. Though without this fix, things work in Firefox browser (don't know why).

This might be a browser-specific behavior related to how Chrome and Edge handle undeclared or inherited CSS custom properties.

I can make a fix assign this to me.

I wasn’t able to reproduce the mentioned issue using the provided steps. Could you please share a working example or repository where the issue can be reproduced? Without that, I’m unable to investigate or fix it.
