Parentpage dropdown: possibility to overwrite ID->Title map

in my case i have some "holder" pages for a period, then some "category pages" (which are the ParentPage for the catalogpages) and project pages, which i want to manage using cataolgmanager.

Unfortunately every period has pretty much the same categories.

Now i have the dropdown like

Category 1
Category 1
Category 2

If we can refactor the getter for the Dropdown i could make something like

Period1 > Category 1
Period2 > Category 1
Period2 > Category 2

Hey @wernerkrauss - you should be able to overwrite the ParentID dropdown in your own class. We often do it:

$fields->addFieldToTab('Root.Main', DropdownField::create('ParentID', 'Category', Category::get()->map('ID', 'CustomTitleFunction'));

I wasn't aware that i can "overwrite" that in my class, but it won't work when i call $this->extend('updateCMSFields') in my class.

For the moment i guess it's a good workaround, but seperating that with a seperate getter method would be more clear IMHO.
