Zoom resetting occasionally although CC is running and set to auto-push #142

Describe the bug

I have set a zoom level in CameraController (which works fine) and activated "Push settings" at 2 seconds.

Still, occasionally (probably before/after video conferences in MS Teams, possibly due to some shenanigans MS Teams does to the camera), the zoom level is reset to whatever default my external camera (Dell WB7022) has upon powering up.

I had assumed that the setting "Push every 2 seconds" would simply apply the settings to the camera every 2 seconds, overriding whatever MS Teams or any other app does.

So the bug is either that this push does not work, or that it is supposed to do something else and it is unclear what it does.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Start CameraController, set required zoom level, witness that the picture is now fine.
  2. Activate "Push settings" with 2 seconds
  3. Work, work, work, join a MS Teams vidco, and occasionally (not 100%) notice that the zoom level of the camera is off.
  4. In this case, the only way to restore it is to go to the Advanced page in CameraController and nudge the zoom slider a tiny bit. The camera is then obviously updated and snaps to the correct zoom immediately.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • CameraController 1.4.0 (6)
  • MacOS Sequoia 15.61
  • Camera Dell WB7022
