Functional and usability analysis of diagram export

We provide basic diagram export functionality. Some features like Pdf export are not working properly and are platform specific.

The goal of this task is

1. analyze the status from a functional point of view on different platform.
2. analyze the current status from a usability point of view

I just tried to usability-test myself with the following goals:

• Export a statechart diagram to PDF
• Export a statechart diagram to PNG/JPG/GIF (Image)
• Print a statechart on my printer
  ... without usage of Screenshots.

I am using V3.0.1 under Mac OS and failed miserably.

1) The export wizard from the File Menu is not exactly helpful.

None of these entries seem to bring me any closer to one of my goals

2) Printing from the File Menu seems to be broken:

I have several valid printers installed :)

3) Afterwards i checked the SCT Documentation / User Guide and searched for the keyword "PDF" and i actually found the correct advice. It seems the export functionally is hidden in the context menu.

• Export to an image file works just fine, but rendering of states seems to be broken in GIF and BMP files:
  

• Export to PDF results in an exception:

--> A 0KB PDF is generated.

Summary of @terfloth goals:

1. analyze the status from a functional point of view on different platform.
   --> PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG Export work just fine. PDF seems broken. Printing seems broken (therefore also now PDF Export via Printer-Menu).

2. analyze the current status from a usability point of view
   --> It's pretty bad. I do not really get, why the export functionally is hidden in the context menu. Expectation would be to find it in the File Menu under "Export". The Documentation was actually helpful though.

This also occured in test 3.2.0.
Enhancement: Could we delete JPEG and BMP from the list?
