Webdav files unexpectedly disappeared

I use WebDAV on my Mac to manage files on windows.

Recently, I noticed that during large file transfers, the files displayed in mountain duck often go out of sync with those on Windows. Even more critically, this results in the moved files disappearing entirely from windows—they are neither in the original location nor the destination.

After disconnecting and reconnecting, the files are gone from both mountain duck and windows. In the “Recent Files” , the files are shown as deleted.

There are a lot of huge cache files taking up space in ~/Library/Group Containers/G69SCX94XU.duck/Library/Application Support/duck/Cache.

I can reproduce the described behavior. We'll look into this and report back as soon as we've found a workaround or a solution. In the meantime, I would suggest copying the files and deleting them after the copy process is finished instead of moving them.

Regarding the cache:
Please refer to the answer in #15382 (reply in thread) regarding the cache limitation settings.

Mountain Duck will always use your local disk space as long as you use the Smart Synchronization mode. The only way to prevent Mountain Duck from using your local disk space without clearing the space at a disconnect at the latest is to use the Online mode instead of the Smart Synchronization mode with deactivated buffering. Note that Mountain Duck will still buffer items even with deactivated buffering if you open and edit a file, transfer items between servers, use a protocol that doesn't support the transfer of an unknown file size (OneDrive, SharePoint), or the writing application uses a non-linear writing method.

The connection mode can be switched either globally within the Mountain Duck preferences Sync tab or within the Connect Mode field in the configuration window of a specific bookmark.
