Lesson 4.9: Presentation Prep


Lesson Materials

📖 Link Materials to Class Agenda:

  • Slides (make a copy for your program - link the copy)
  • No coding exercises for students to fork. Presentation Day 🎉
  • Reflection Padlet (remake with posts & link to agenda)

Key Points

  • 👋 Welcome (5) :

    • Briefly welcome students and introduce the day's objectives.
    • Conduct an icebreaker activity (details to be added by the lead volunteer).
    • No Do Now for this lesson.

  • 📝 Final Planning Prep (20) :

    • Students will meet in their project teams to finalize who will speak when during the presentation and make any last-minute adjustments to ensure the presentation is within the 5-minute time limit.
    • Teams will practice their presentations, focusing on clarity, timing, and smooth transitions between speakers.

  • 💻 Presentations (60) :

    • Each team will present their project, adhering to the time limit.
    • Encourage a supportive and respectful environment, with the audience engaging with positive feedback and questions.

  • 🤔 Reflect (10) :

    • Guide students to a reflection activity where they can share their future learning aspirations, favorite moments, and key takeaways from the course.
    • Remake the padlet template provided in the materials and link to the class agenda.

  • 🎉 Celebrations (20) :

    • Note: The awards provided should be changed to meet program size/project work.
    • Announce awards for categories such as Best Use of New Technologies, Best Original Content, Most Creative Game Adaptation, Most Ambitious Project Scope, and Best Fit-and-Finish.
    • Celebrate the winners and acknowledge the effort of all participants.
    • Conclude the program on a high note, leaving students inspired and motivated for their next steps.
    • Offer heartfelt closing remarks.
    • Acknowledge the hard work, growth, and accomplishments of all students.
    • Encourage them to continue exploring, learning, and growing in their coding journey.
