Failing to download latest version

[witnessmenow]

I'm running the server on a synology NAS, the clients I connect to it with are Fire Tablets. Currently getting an error that the server is running an old version.

• I tried restarting the docker containter to pull the latest, but was still getting the same error
• I tried updating the docker image, but still the same error
• I tired to rename the old server file to try force a download

Looking at the logs I see the following warning

WARN Minecraft download page failed, so using existing download of 1.21.111_OLD

I was seeing the same before I renamed the old one.

Enabling Debug on the docker container I get the following logs (Sorry the logs have latest on the top, thats how they exported for some reason. Can include all the logs if it would be helpful)

Any suggestions for what im doing wrong?

Adding that going to the minecraft.net bedrock server page as shown in the logs, manually getting the download URL from there and doing a curl to download it on my NAS works, so I don't believe it is a network issue.

You're using an ancient version of the image before Mojang switched to a download metadta file. Re-pull the image and try again. (Be sure to do that before reporting issues)

I am running into the same issue, I'm new to the self hosted world scene, and just edited my allowlist and restarted then it wouldn't connect so I thought I did something wrong

I had the same issue today. As a temporary workaround, setting VERSION to the current fixed Bedrock version and adding DIRECT_DOWNLOAD_URL solved it for me:

Yeap. Worked for me. It looks like this issue is on the minecraft servers because I couldn't download the right server file from the official website. We have to wait for it to be fixed and then we can get it back to how it was before
