Install faucet on windows isn't so easy as mentioned (without wsl)

If the installation process isn't made by Docker builds, it'll require manual settings and installing other components

I hope these Windows 11 instructions will be helpful for others.

You need neither WSL nor administrative rights. Here's the recipe I used:

Prerequisites

• MSYS2 build tools and GCC (GNU Compiler Collection)

  • If you have Rtools installed, you already have both GCC and MSYS2.
  • Here I was using R 4.4.1 and thus used rtools44 that I had previously installed here: c:\Rbuildtools\4.4

• Rust

  • I had Rust installed here: c:\opt\rust\rust190

• NASM (Netwide Assembler)

  • Download Windows NASM zip (Netwide Assembler) and unzip to a preferred location.
    -The stable release I used was here: https://www.nasm.us/pub/nasm/releasebuilds/3.01/win64/nasm-3.01-win64.zip
    -I unzipped this at c:\opt\NASM\nasm-3.01

Start an MSYS2 terminal from the rtools installation directories

All of the remaining instructions will be executed from within the MSYS2 terminal

You'll obviously need to adjust to your installed locations.

• export PATH=$PATH:/c/RBuildtools/4.4

• Add cargo to your PATH

  • export PATH=$PATH:/c/opt/rust/cargo/bin

• Add Rust to your PATH

  • export PATH=$PATH:/c/opt/rust/rust190/bin

• Add NASM to your PATH

  • export PATH=$PATH:/c/opt/NASM/nasm-3.01

• Add gcc to your PATH

  • export PATH=$PATH:/c/RBuildTools/4.4/x86_64-w64-mingw32.static.posix/bin

• Install CMake build system

  • pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-cmake

• Add CMake to your PATH

  • export PATH=$PATH:/c/RBuildTools/4.4/mingw64/bin

• Build faucet (will take a bit to download and compile everything)

  • cargo install faucet-server

You should now have the faucet.exe and you can run it from a normal Windows command prompt.

This error doesn't appears? [2025-10-10T16:42:57Z ERROR faucet] Worker::7's process (2856) exited with status exit code: 0xc0000005

I mean, feucet works well after that?
