Purchases not owned after closing the app #1671

I saw that in the docs it's said:
Limited functionality in test environments
The method store.owned(productId) only returns true just after doing the purchase, but it always returns false after I close and reopen the app. Even if I use the method that requires Apple to restore purchases.
How is this limitation? I'm concerned that this won't work fine on production.
Is the only way to configure the receipt validation? I didn't want to develop a back side for my app.
I had this already working. I just retook my app and included a new purchase item. I remember it worked fine in the past. But not now.
