Trademark policy

Reserved marks

The following are not licensed under the MIT License, CERN-OHL-S-2.0, or any other open-source licence in this repository:

  • The name Tiny Engineer
  • The Tiny Engineer logo and visual identity
  • The AI emblem geometry in 3d_models/parts/AiEmblem.3mf
  • Project images in docs/ that depict the Tiny Engineer branding

Copyright in design files does not grant trademark rights. Licensing hardware design files under CERN-OHL-S-2.0 allows you to make, modify, and distribute physical parts, but it does not allow you to use the Tiny Engineer name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or an official product.

Permitted uses

You may make factual references that do not imply endorsement, for example:

  • "Based on the Tiny Engineer open hardware design"
  • "Compatible with Tiny Engineer firmware"
  • Attribution in documentation or README files

Prohibited uses

Without prior written permission, do not:

  • Use "Tiny Engineer" in a product name, company name, or domain name in a way that suggests an official product
  • Use the logo, emblem, or project images to imply endorsement or sponsorship
  • State or imply that your product is an official Tiny Engineer product
