Try with an older binary, epollwait is not within the kindle 4's kernel. Syncthing 0.14 & 0.13 work AFAIK but I doubt about compatibility with newer binaries of itself, so you should only tether it to other devices running the same versions.

EDIT 2: Regarding syncthing versions, don't use 0.18 or 0.17 as they automatically update to 0.3, rendering itself useless as it runs on epollwait as well.

EDIT 1: Also, I don't know why but the K4 loves putting syncthing's config in tmp/.config, making any future launches impossible (you get a launch-exit loop) so remember to run the command syncthing -home="/mnt/us/.config/syncthing" when booting syncthing.
