Kindle PaperWhite Device ID Unknown and connection refused

The first time I installed Syncthing on my Kindle, I saw that the device ID was unknown but it was picked up by my Mac which I got the whole thing working. But after an hour or so, it would disconnect and say something like connection timeout or connection refused. The files would not transfer at all so I uninstalled it from my kindle and reinstalled it. The second time, it would still say unknown, but when connected the kindle would say "Syncthing error (connection refused).

Also having this error on a Kindle 8th gen. Plugin works perfectly on my Kindle 11th gen.
