EF Core Migrations with azd

I was wondering how EF Core Migrations are being run as part of the new way the infra and the app gets provisioned using azd right now?

I am also wondering whether the buildartifacts section in the build.yaml pipeline is still relevant or not?

Before azd, the buildartifacts was the way to prepare the ef core bundle and then this was executed inside the deploy.yml pipeline.
