Newest ESPHome version 2025.10.x bricks the ESP **FIXED**

I’m actually started building another one of these yesterday after my hand-wired prototype unit gave up a couple days ago in my original pellet stove after 4 years. Yeah - I was too lazy to fix something that wasn’t broken...

The latest ESPHome 2025.10.5 has unfortunately broken something - the ESP won’t even boot, so its something really basic - and I’m working w/ the devs right now to get it fixed. I’m sure I’ll get to the bottom of it soon. They’re very responsive to me - this is clearly one of the more complex applications they have ever seen for ESPHome and HA.

My shop pellet stove using this circuit board works fine, so I might have to back-rev ESPHome and load that to help w/ troubleshooting. It’s always something.

I’ll update this post when I learn more.

Then the esp reboots and repeats this loop. Notice the 9 second delay at the end.

ok, I have NO IDEA when the change was made but UART buffers can no longer be set to 80.... its too short. Best to REMOVE those lines from the config file:

updated the modded version to 4.1
Removed rx_buffer
added decoded error message sensor. sensor.yaml update to decode the errors is no longer required.
