Problems with new Debian Trixie OS

I tried running current Kiln-controller on an old Rasp Pi B rev2 with latest Debian Trixie OS from Rasp Pi imager. Lots of hiccups centred around OS unhappy with the comfortable old raspi-gpio subs. I spent a little time attempting to get inadequate head around lgpio but gave up, loaded up a version of Debian Bookworm OS and all worked fine.

Piggybacking off of this issue as I believe the new Trixie was the root of all my problems.

Following up on the issue I opened yesterday in regards to the MAX31856, I ensured my tc was not being grounded but was still having no luck getting the tc to register temps correctly.

I decided to do a full reset of my pi and flashed it with the latest Bookworm instead of Trixie. Followed the install instructions, configured my pins in config.py, and it worked immediately. I believe this should be looked into further and perhaps a note added to the install instructions advising users to try using Bookworm first. I don't have the know-how to help determine why Trixie was causing problems but it certainly seems to have been the issue.

I will list my final configuration and thoughts here in case other users find it useful in the future.

I would also suggest advise be added to the readme about the BCM, GPIO, and Physical pin numbers. I have programming experience which helped a lot but none when it comes to diy electronics and understanding the different pin numbers was a challenge. WiringPi helped with that initially when nothing from this project was working on Trixie.

I also had a bad transistor with a bad collector that was preventing my relay from switching.
