Installing docker-compose plugin doesn't seem to work

Hi,

I've installed both docker-cli and docker-compose via mise. Which created a shim called docker-cli-plugin-docker-compose as well as the docker shim which I can both correctly execute.

docker --version
Docker version 28.3.3, build 980b856

docker-cli-plugin-docker-compose  --version
Docker Compose version v2.39.1

However running docker compose doesn't work - essentially from dockers perpective the plugin wasn't actually installed.

I was able to fix this by adding a link in the docker config directory:
ln -s $(which docker-cli-plugin-docker-compose) ~/.docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose

after which running docker compose worked just fine. Not sure if this issue should be raised here or in the aqua repo, please let me know!

Same here. Symlinking docker-cli-plugin-docker-compose to ~/.docker/cli-plugins/docker-compose worked for me as well. It would be nice if Mise figured this out automatically. Though I suspect it gets tricky when docker-compose is installed only locally for a project, as the symlink has a global effect.
