New to the dedicated media player, playback controls

hey, so i am just getting into running my own jellyfin, and opted for the media player to side step chromes transcoding for mkv files, it runs fine in the menus, playback is smooth, but the playback controls? like cc menu etc while the vid is playing is laggy? not the movie, its fine, the actually controls when i mouse over them they are delayed on highlighting and going through their options? is this a bug or did i mess something up in a menu?
