DLNA Directly to TV no Longer works

Description of the bug

After upgrading to 10.10.5, dlna casting no longer works, I have checked the dlna plugin, there is no updates to be seen(6.0.0.0), I have tried multiple different files. If i navigate to the dlna server from the tv it will play files. using the app on the tv i can cast to the app, not the tv directly

Hi @CreatingWithCake, I noticed something similar during my tests regarding a different issue. In my case, it seems like the AVTransportURL uses the loopback address (127.0.0.1) instead of the actual network address:

Could you maybe enable debug logging for the DLNA plugin on your server to check if you're experiencing the same issue as me?
To do this, you need to add "Jellyfin.Plugin.Dlna": "Debug" to your logging overrides in the config/logging.json file. (If missing, simply copy and rename logging.default.json).

It didn't happen every time. Sometimes I launched Jellyfin and everything worked flawlessly but other times it didn't.

In my case the NetworkManager seems to get both bind addresses (loopback and network) but then deciding to use the loopback address instead of the network address, the result of which is then used by the DLNA plugin to build the AVTransportURL (if I haven't overlooked something).

Please correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you placed the file in the main Jellyfin folder instead of the "config" sub-folder. If it's the config folder, then there should also be a "system.xml", "network.xml", etc.

If the overrides got applied, your Jellyfin server should start logging DBG messages for Jellyfin.Plugin.Dlna.

You can double-check if it's the right directory by looking up the log message Main: Config directory path:. Jellyfin logs this upon server start, with the config directory path after that.

After some research online it's likely that your data directory is in fact at /etc/jellyfin. In this case, there should theoratically be a config folder in it, containing the "logging.default.json", "network.xml", "system.xml", ... If you can find those, you're at the right place.

@ACertainCoder I am experiencing the same issue. I am using Jellyfin on TrueNAS and had to roll back to 10.10.3 (10.10.4 doesn't seem to be available in m y roll-back choices) for DLNA to work again. On the player I am trying to play to, I can see the error 127.0.0.1:8086/stream... not available. So yes, it seems Jellyfin sends the wrong address...

I've been battling with Jellyfin all week, to try and get it to play out to a gmediarender endpoint, and suspect I may be fighting this bug.

Is there a way to test the patch in advance of it being in the update, or, to know when the fix might be available?
