Video playback does not work in Jellyfin Vue, but works in classic Jellyfin web

Description of the bug

Movies and TV shows play fine in the classic Jellyfin web UI (:8096) but do not play at all using Jellyfin Vue (:8081).

The Vue interface loads and shows everything, but when I try to play a video it just loads forever and never starts the movie

Steps to reproduce

Start Jellyfin server and Jellyfin Vue container on Docker, port 8081.

Browse to Jellyfin Vue web interface .

Select any movie or TV show and click “Play.”

Wait for the video to load—playback never starts, just a loading spinner.

Expected behavior

The selected movie or episode should play in the browser

Additional context

Playback works fine in classic Jellyfin web UI for the same media files.

Tested in Chrome, Edge, Firefox; all yield the same issue.

Host OS Ubuntu 24.04

Docker Compose setup

Media folders mounted and owned by UID/GID 1000.

No network issues or server errors for classic UI.
