Sorry if this exists elsewhere, I looked through the documentation but much of it is broader than the nitty-gritty.
I've noticed a recurring problem with my collection on HDD (EXT4 partition)
I use a variety of methods to manage my media collection across networks and sometimes things can take hours or overnights to finish transferring (or ripping)
It seems if the collection is ever updated while files are partially downloaded; Jellyfin seems to store some level of ghost data or remembers the media in a way that seems to be very difficult to manage again. And even once I move things between Libraries and re-scan I often get unexpected results. Such as TV media appearing as individual episodes in the TV Library; or sometimes only a partial series visible.
The quickest solution to My Main Problem: would be if there's a safe way to "delete" Show or Season 'folders' from Jellyfin such that I can rescan the collection and Jellyfin will add them as if a new Show.
There's a metadata manager, but that seems highly limited; is there any JSON or text based data that I can bulk edit, or is this a bad idea?
Is there a full cache reload?
Ideally I can edit things a lot faster than 1-by-1 on the web.
Sorry the precise problem is hard to determine.
#6355 Related discussion? Time-line wise this is possible; but I can't see any specifics. I've been running this Jellyfin instance (.DEB) on Ubuntu using Noble & Jammy [& Oracular(?)] repository for a long while; so there are plenty of minor versions I've moved through over the years.
