Tizen TV - Language and subtitle selection does not work

Describe the bug

On my Jellyfin server, all movies are available in at least 2 languages: English and French. So if I play a specific movie on any client like my computer for example, everything looks fine and I can change the audio and subtitles for French or English

But on my Samsung TV (TQ55Q70CATXXC), if I play the same movie, the audio cannot be selected : If I choose an audio (French or English) before or during playback of the film, it doesn't seem to have any effect and remains on the first audio when the film starts, i.e. sometimes French, sometimes English. In short, the audio choice setting only works on the front-end. The same problem applies to subtitles.

Reproduction Steps

1. Start Jellyfin on a Tizen TV
2. Add your server and log in
3. close the app (settings -> close app)
4. open it again (normally you're already logged)
5. Start a movie with minimum 2 audio or subtitles
6. Try to change audio or subtitles during playback

Sometimes, this steps doesn't help you to reproduce the issue. If this is the case, you need to switch off the TV completely and then switch it on again after closing Jellyfin.

Expected/Actual behaviour

I was expecting the application to change the audio and subtitles to match my choice. However, the actual behavior is to adjust the front-end to my choices, but the audio and subtitles remain the same during playback

How I can temporarily fix this issue

One exception allows me to choose audio and subtitles, here the way to reproduce it :

1. Start Jellyfin (i'm already loggued)
2. Disconnect of your profile
3. delete your server of the Jellyfin app
4. reconfigure it and log in with your account
5. Now i can choose audio / subtitles until Jellyfin is closed !

UPDATE : I found out how this issue appeared for me

To access to my Jellyfin server, I use a reverse proxy service, which gives me secure access to the server using https. So the access is granted with : https://jellyfin.mydomain.com.

But, I don't know why, when I don't use the reverse proxy and connect to my server directly like : mydomain.com:8096, my issue is fixed.

Is it possible that this problem is due to my reverse proxy configuration?

What's surprising is that the problem only occurs on my Tizen client with my Samsung TV.

Some things I'd try, although it seems unlikely this would be related to the reverse proxy:

• Temporarily rename your subdomain (e.g jellyfin.mydomain.com to jellyfin2.mydomain.com) and try again to eliminate any possible caching issues tied to the original domain.
• Double-check your reverse proxy configuration, you can see the recommended configuration on the Jellyfin docs if yours is listed there.
• If nothing works, you can try using a different reverse proxy to see if it solves the issue.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

So I tried renaming my subdomain as you said, and that seems to solve the problem for now. My tizen client can connect with the reverse proxy again. I hope the problem doesn't come back. If it does, I'll report it here.

EDIT : spoke too soon, the issue has already reappeared with the reverse proxy. I'm pretty sure the reverse proxy settings are correct, so I think I'll continue to use the tizen client without the reverse proxy for now.
