Subtitles disappear when fullscreen

Describe the bug

I recently found that in some cases, when I dont burn in the subtitles, and hit fullscreen on my 4k monitor, the sub disappears. It works fine on my iPad and even when I move the tab to my 1080p monitor and fullscreen there. I once change the sub font to bigger size it helped, but not anymore.

Reproduction Steps

1. Open up a MKV video with SRT sub, embedded or external
2. Hit fullscreen and wait till the bezel disappears.
3. The subtitles disappear.

Expected/Actual behaviour

I expect the subtitle to stay there, rather disappear.

I'm having the same issue with the same setup. On my main 4K display, if I'm watching something full screen, as soon as the OSD (playback controls) fade out, the subtitles disappear. If I move my mouse, making the OSD reappear, so do the subtitles.

Like the other user, if I move the windows to my secondary FHD display and go full screen there, the subtitles remain as expected.

Notably, I'm seeing this unwanted behavior both in Chrome and Edge but not in Firefox.*

*Edit: the video is transcoding while playing in Firefox, but playing directly in Chrome and Edge. Maybe that has nothing to do, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Edit 2: Just wanted to add, in my case both the server and the client are on version 10.10.7 running on Windows 11.

Subtitles were disappearing when entering fullscreen mode on 4K displays. This issue occurred specifically when subtitles were not burned in and the bezel disappeared after entering fullscreen. The problem did not occur on lower-resolution displays or other devices like iPads & tablets.

Resolution

Fixed the subtitle visibility issue by ensuring subtitle elements remain visible during fullscreen transitions. Adjusted subtitle font size dynamically for 4K displays and above to improve readability while maintaining consistent padding across all resolutions.
