SRT subtitles not shown in the PIP window

Describe the bug

SRT subtitles are not shown in the PIP window AFTER upgraded to 10.11.X. Subtitles are shown with no problem in 10.10.7.
10.11 offers enchanting new features, but I am hesitant to upgrade to 10.11 because of this bug.
This is a repost of #7217, which was closed as a duplicate of #2480 despite being different issues.

Reproduction Steps

Have a Video with SRT Subtitle
Play the Video
Press PIP button

Expected/Actual behaviour

SRT can be displayed in PIP window.
