Making whitespaces visible in the diff

I was looking how to make whitespaces always visible in the diff view.
There is a keybinding for toggleWhitespaceInDiffView but it does not look like it is doing anything for me. I think I am using recent enough version (0.28.2-1 from arch community repo)

I would like help in making it work or even better to have whitespaces always visible in the diff
