On the question - why you have decided to use --ipv4-range=172.29.0.0/16 as an arg on the Cilium DS instead of using for example
ipam: kubernetes or ipam: cluster-pool and have per-node subnets for the pods?
together with:

  cluster-pool-ipv4-cidr: "x.x.x.x"
  cluster-pool-ipv4-mask-size: "24"
