Whiteboard content outside centered view is not recorded by Jibri (layout shifts cause partial whiteboard recording)

We are using the new Jitsi Whiteboard (Excalidraw) in a self-hosted docker-jitsi-meet setup with Jibri for recording.

When the whiteboard is opened and participants draw near the right / bottom edges, those parts are not present in the final recording.

It looks like Jibri only records the main centered viewport.
If the whiteboard UI shifts due to chat/participants panel, or if the drawing area is not fully centered → anything outside Jibri’s visible area is missing.

Users see full whiteboard, but recording shows only part of it.

This is a major issue for online classes: students reviewing recordings lose important parts of the teaching whiteboard.

This is fundamentally unfixable since the whiteboard is virtually unbounded.

What you can do is enable Recorder Follow Me on the Moderator options so the recorder takes the same actions as the moderator.

Damn just as I pressed send I realized we might not be sending the positioning information so the whiteboard movements are not synced :-/

Just to clarify — since you mentioned the positioning information might not be sent, does that mean Recorder Follow Me currently won’t sync the whiteboard viewport for Jibri?
If so, is there any workaround for Docker Jitsi setups to ensure Jibri captures the full whiteboard as the moderator sees it, or do we need to wait for this feature to be implemented?

There is nothing that will make Jibri pan theiugh the whiteboard alas.
