GSOC Idea Proposal: Enhance Jitsi Whiteboard - Contributor Tracking, Playback and Highlights

I would like to propose an enhancement to Jitsi Meet’s whiteboard that will introduce persistent contributor tracking, session playback, and a highlight generator. These features can greatly improve the usability of the whiteboard especially in education, collaboration, and team review sessions.

Proposal Features:

1. Contributor Tracking: Each whiteboard element will be tagged with author information.

2. Session Playback: A timeline slider to replay the session step by step.

3. Highlight Generator: Export short GIF/video of key whiteboard moments.

Why This Matters?
The whiteboard is currently limited to live collaboration. These features would add reviewability, context preservation, and asynchronous usability.

React, Redux, WebRTC, gif.js, Excalidraw, pako.
