2.8.* tags missing #641

Hi!
It seems that the version committed on GitHub is not exactly the same as the version on NPM. NPM refers to a version 2.8.1 whereas the source on GitHub indicates that the current version is 2.8.0.
Would you mind adding the changes to GitHub as well?
I took a quick look at the code difference between versions 2.8.1 and 2.8.0, the single missing change is actually the version change in package.json. But that can be scary.
It would be very nice to tag both versions 2.8.0 and 2.8.1 so that we can see them directly in the release/tags section of GitHub.
