[Feature request] Minimum fan speed when using over_climate when target is reached

Hi!

I'm using VT with heat pump/AC for heating, and the location of the AC is not optimal.
When running low speed, heat accumulates around AC, and it's not able to rise the temperature around the room sensor location. If I increase fan speed to 3 or 4, I see temperature rise in room sensor location.

This is a case where a minimum fan speed option would be optimal.

Hello, fan speed is already available in the VTherm over_climate. Did you read the documentation on that particular function ?

If you don't want to use the auto-fan feature, you can always control it manually via the VTherm UI Card (https://www.versatile-thermostat.org/en/plugins/)

Yes, I've read most of the documentation.

Once the temperature difference becomes small again, the ventilation will switch to a "normal" mode, which depends on your equipment (in order): Mute, Quiet, Auto, Low. The first available mode for your equipment will be chosen.

In my case, this seems to be mute or quiet on my Mitsubishi AC, and it's barely moving any air, despite clean airfilters.

That's why I proposed a feature request with minimum fan speed, to be able to force it to speed 2 or 3 in "normal" mode.

ok, if I repeat with my words, you want the ability to specify the "normal" mode with auto-fan activated.
Instead of using the first speed found in "Mute, Quiet, Auto, Low", you want to specify which speed should be used when target temperature is near the target.

ok, I understand. I don't like this because it adds one more parameter in the already too complex configuration but let's put this into community vote. If many people are interested, why not.

If this feature is realized sometime, it's good to have it in first speed found as standard.
I think my case is a bit on the edge, because of changing the room layout - the airflow took a hit, but in those cases it would be a great option.
VT already rendered my AC from almost useless to good regulation again.

I see what you mean about the complexity of the setup, but VT is really a great addon when you get it right.

Use case: I do not have a lot of clearance above the AC unit, and it goes into freeeze protection fast if there is not enough air moving.
