Numpy>=2 Support

At the moment, when I try import mknapsack while using numpy 2.0.0 I get the following error:

A module that was compiled using NumPy 1.x cannot be run in
NumPy 2.0.0 as it may crash. To support both 1.x and 2.x
versions of NumPy, modules must be compiled with NumPy 2.0.
Some module may need to rebuild instead e.g. with 'pybind11>=2.12'.

If you are a user of the module, the easiest solution will be to
downgrade to 'numpy<2' or try to upgrade the affected module.
We expect that some modules will need time to support NumPy 2.

Would it be possible to add support for more recent numpy versions?

Thanks for your suggestion. The Fortran compilation has changed a lot in the most recent numpy versions, which unfortunately means that they can’t be used together with this package.

I have an ongoing effort to rewrite the whole build system in this library with mesos, which would allow later numpy versions, but unfortunately it’s still WIP.

Sure; can you though, at least put a "<2" restriction on the deps in pyproject.toml so it won't pull in an incompatible version of numpy by default.
