**NEVER hand-write from scratch:**
- `package.json` → Use `pnpm init`, `npm init`, or scaffolding CLIs
- `tsconfig.json` → Use `tsc --init` or framework CLIs that generate it
- `next.config.js` → Use `create-next-app` to scaffold
- `turbo.json` → Use `create-turbo` or `npx turbo init`
- Component libraries → Use `npx shadcn@latest init`, not hand-written components
- Tailwind config → Use `npx tailwindcss init` or framework integration
**WHY?** Hand-written configs are hallucination magnets. CLIs generate correct, version-appropriate configs.
**The pattern:**
1. **Scaffold** with official CLI tools
2. **Verify** it works (`pnpm install && pnpm build`)
3. **Edit** only what needs customization
4. **Verify again** after edits

## LINTER ERRORS (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

When you see linter errors in diagnostics output:
1. **FIX THEM** - don't ignore them, don't defer them
2. **Common fixes:**
- `Infinity` shadowing → rename import to `InfinityIcon`
- Missing `type="button"` → add explicit type prop
- Array index as key → use unique identifier like `key={\`item-${id}\`}`
- Empty alt/title → add descriptive text or `aria-hidden="true"`
- Children as prop → use `<Component>{children}</Component>` not `<Component children={children} />`

**USE SWARM PLUGIN TOOLS - NOT RAW CLI/MCP**
The `opencode-swarm-plugin` provides type-safe, context-preserving wrappers. Always prefer plugin tools over raw `bd` commands or Agent Mail MCP calls.
### Tool Priority Order
1. **Swarm Plugin Tools** - `hive_*`, `agentmail_*`, `swarm_*`, `structured_*` (ALWAYS FIRST)
2. **Read/Edit** - direct file operations over bash cat/sed

## Swarm Mail Coordination (MANDATORY for Multi-Agent Work)

**CRITICAL: These are NOT suggestions. Violating these rules breaks coordination and causes conflicts.**
Swarm Mail is the ONLY way agents coordinate in parallel work. Silent agents cause conflicts, duplicate work, and wasted effort.

### ABSOLUTE Requirements
**ALWAYS** use Swarm Mail when:
1. **Working in a swarm** (spawned as a worker agent)
2. **Editing files others might touch** - reserve BEFORE modifying
3. **Blocked on external dependencies** - notify coordinator immediately
4. **Discovering scope changes** - don't silently expand the task
5. **Finding bugs in other agents' work** - coordinate, don't fix blindly
6. **Completing a subtask** - use `swarm_complete`, not manual close
**NEVER**:
1. **Work silently** - if you haven't sent a progress update in 15+ minutes, you're doing it wrong
2. **Skip initialization** - `swarmmail_init` is MANDATORY before any file modifications
3. **Modify reserved files** - check reservations first, request access if needed
4. **Complete without releasing** - `swarm_complete` handles this, manual close breaks tracking
5. **Use generic thread IDs** - ALWAYS use cell ID (e.g., `thread_id="bd-123.4"`)
