Logged hours getting lost over time. User error or bug?

Not sure if this is user error on my side or a technical issue. My weekly/monthly worklog in the desktop app seems to be losing track of logged hours, which gets worse for tasks that were completed longer time ago. I understand that this happens when a project is deleted (which is not ideal for my uses but okay), so I started moving all completed tasks to a separate project for archiving purposes. But now those completed tasks sometimes disappear in my task overview for a project, and I'm not sure why this is happening. It's really bugging me that I can no longer trust my worklog to properly assess my progress, Any feedback would be much appreciated.

That being said, it's still my favorite task tracker so far, keep up the good work!

Hey there! Thanks for opening this up. From your description this sounds like a bug. It would be super helpful if you could copy over the logs and describe exactly what happens when task get's lost.
Do the tasks disappear from the normal list or are they archived (done tasks are moved to the archive on day finish)?

That's very weird. If disabled there should be no such message. Could you maybe provide me with a data export to [email protected]? Also: I am curious to hear what version of the app you are using.

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. I sent you an email with that data yesterday, I'll look into it in more detail once my schedule clears up again in a week or two. Thanks for following up on it though!

Thank you! I think I was able to reproduce the initial sync error message and I found a fix, too (f067893). I will make a bugfix release this Friday for this. I'll also check your data then.

Hey there! Just checked your data (thanks for sending it :)). There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it as far as I can see. Tasks should not disappear like that and I can only see two reasons for them not showing up.

1. They disappear from the worklog for "Today" because the Today tag is removed for some reason
2. They disappear because the data imported by syncing is older than the local one

I am not saying, that it is impossible for data to involuntarily disappear, but I would at least some sort of error or even crash if that were to be the case.

Could you give me some example task names, that seem to have disappeared? Maybe I can find them somewhere in the data.

Thanks for looking into it! I just sent you a proper reply by email, with a fresh export from this morning. Just had a bunch of tasks go "invisible" from yesterday, although the time logs seem to be intact. I'll have to focus on uni one more week but will catch up ASAP after that to see if we can figure out what's going on.
