When an app freezes, the goal is to get you working again quickly and, if needed, collect one useful file so we (the devs) can fix it. Please follow these steps in order.

1) If the app freezes

This takes under a minute and gives us the exact “freeze snapshot.” Do it while the app is frozen.

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager.

2. Go to Processes tab → find Super Productivity.

3. Right-click it → Create dump file.

4. Wait ~10–30 seconds. Windows will show you a path like:

   C:\Users\<YourName>\AppData\Local\Temp\Super Productivity.DMP
   

5. Open that folder, right-click the .DMP → Send to → Compressed (zipped) folder.

6. Keep the ZIP file; you’ll attach it if we ask for it.

Optional (quick clue): In Task Manager → Details tab, right-click SuperProductivity.exe → Analyze wait chain.

• If Windows says it’s “Waiting on” another app (e.g., antivirus, cloud drive), note the name.

2) Basic checks

• Does your PC spike to 100% CPU or stay calm?
  In Task Manager, check the CPU column for Super Productivity.

  • Very low CPU (0–1%) during a freeze usually means it’s waiting (e.g., on a lock, disk, network, or graphics driver).
  • Very high CPU means it’s busy with a task; tell us roughly what you were doing (e.g., importing, huge list changes).

• Try without external monitors (if you’re on a laptop docking station). Rarely, GPU/driver combos freeze only with a specific monitor setup.

• Update your graphics driver via your device maker (NVIDIA/AMD/Intel). Many UI freezes on Windows are graphics-driver related.
