How to use Jira Cookie Authentication?

I am an artist with no experience in web development. I am attracted to this project for its ability to integrate with Jira. I have tried following the steps to integrate but am unable to get it working.

Hey there! Thank you very much for opening this up.. First of all: You shouldn't post your credentials here others might use them for malicious things. But for now you're most likely safe as the cookie probably already expired.

I'd recommend not using the cookie method but rather the password/email method if you're not experienced with these things. What I noticed however is that you included cloud.session.token= in the string. The actual cookie is only the part after that and until the next ; which seems to be at ; ajs_group_id=null.

The cookie was still valid so I have deleted the previous message. I tried with just the cookie string but still no luck. Is there something else that I am missing?

With the password/email I get the same error message. I think this is why I started looking at the cookie - I thought I needed to set it up based on the email/password failing.

Did you try with a new cookie?

Yes, I have tried many times. Always with the same error "Jira: Unexpected token < in JSON at position 6"

Is password/token/email not an option for you? You would have to add a new token every time the app restarts or the token changes. it's meant to be more of a last resort in case everything else fails.

If you really want to make this work, we need to find out why the requests are failing. You would need to dig into the request itself, which in this case unfortunately requires a little bit of technical knowledge. First thing you need to check and post here is the complete console output (Ctrl+Shift+i). If that doesn't provide enough you would need to run a development server on your system to further debug this.

I get the same error message using email and token, or email and password.

Sorry I missed that bit. "Unauthorized" indicates a 401 which indicates some sort of authentication error, so maybe this thread is helpful:

My coworker had the same problem. He solved it by changing the URL of the Jira host.
The host url has to be https://{company}.atlassian.net/ only
