Describe the bug
I read books on my laptop, but I set the layout to single-column because it's easier to read. This works for epub and other supported extensions. However, PDF files that are opened on Foliate display two pages (even if the layout is set to single-column) unless you reduce the width of the Foliate app window.
Edit:
I realize this issue has been brought up before. I would like to create a PR to attempt fixing this if given the green light.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Open a pdf file on the Foliate app.
- Click on the three dots on the top-right of the Foliate window.
- Click on Font & Layout Settings
- Select Layout and set the maximum number of columns to 1.
Expected behavior
I expected there to be a single page per screen.
Screenshots
Here you can see that it shows two pages/columns on the same screen for the pdf even though the no. of columns is set to one:
However when I reduce the width of the window to a small (mobile screen) breakpoint, it changes to 1-column:
Version:
- Foliate version: 3.3.0
- OS/Distribution and version: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Desktop environment: GNOME 46.0
- Installation method: flatpak
