Impossible to change email address

Whenever I attempt to change my email address I get:

An error occurred: Your profile update was not accepted. The server reports: ["That email is already associated with another account"]

However, my email address cannot be used by anyone else, since it is my email address. To be sure I tried a password reset, but that does not work either, since the email is not in use.

Hey Richard. Thanks for raising the issue.

I have a slight idea of what might be happening. I'll dig into it and see what I can do.
