is it that you can either run the Jolokia agent or the MCP server as agent ? Which makes sense to some degree, but can you then run also both agents together on the same JVM ? (say, one for monitoring, the other for agent integration ?)

Theoretically it's possible, but we haven't tested that enough. We should fully test such an usage and find room for potential improvements.
