windowid ignored for some commands

xdotool type --windowid <id> <sequence> types the sequence in the current window. It should type it in the windows with the given id.

Environment

I'm using Deepin 25 and have the same problem.

Steps to Reproduce

1. xdotool selectwindow

2. xdotool type --window 226492496 "hello world\n"

3. Executing echo $? in the terminal returns 0, but the corresponding text (hello world\n) is not entered in the window 226492496.

Other Attempts

I can successfully input text into the corresponding window using xdotool windowactivate --sync 226492496 type "hello world".

Problem

I understand that the window must be active to input text. This would require modifying the logic of xdotool type --window to activate the specified window first, and then input text. If this isn't implemented, shouldn't there be a prompt for the user to use xdotool windowactivate --sync?
