xdotool search --onlyvisible . behave '%@' mouse-enter getmouselocation crashes and burns

In the man page there is an example
xdotool search --onlyvisible . behave '%@' mouse-enter getmouselocation
When I run this using xdotool-4.20251130.1 it starts fine:
Defaulting to search window name, class, classname, and role

So far so good.

But when I move the mouse to another window, I am rewarded with

x:914 y:420 screen:0 window:20971529
 double free or corruption (out)
 zsh: IOT instruction (core dumped)  xdotool search --onlyvisible . behave %@ mouse-enter getmouselocation

Someone else reports he tried it with 3.20211022.1 and it also happens there.

Presumably it worked at some point in the past, since it is in the man page.
