Consider a klog note for 0m entries you want to be embedded in your time keeping record.

often times I'll have a running entry or a few that I am switching between and I would like to take a note of some small task accomplished without having to do a klog edit or switching from the primary task that's being recorded. I forget if the DSL supports comments within the code but I've taken to adding zero minute entries to accomplish this and was wondering if we might make a shortcut for this with klog note.

Ah I see from #54 and the file spec itself no comments at the moment. Perhaps 0m entries are a decent workaround while that's being considered.

Just mentioning for the records: the file format doesn’t support the concept of comments (as in programming/code comments), and it’s unlikely that this will change.

So after reading through the other items it looks like this might not be a bad compromise for #54 that would let us support "comment like" entries without extending the file specification. @jotaen lmk if you think this is worthwhile, otherwise I'll just make a little bash alias and call it a day.

If you think it could be useful I don't mind doing the implementation for it.

Could indented/multiline entry summaries cater your needs somehow?

If your notes are related to specific entries, then this would seem most logical to me.

Note, however, that the CLI currently doesn’t support appending text to existing entry summaries. But this functionality may be worth to consider.

Yeah that'd work fine. if we could expose this via the cli. My specific use case often has me running klog over ssh. So it's nice to be able to ssh klog.server klog track "xyz" to throw an entry on the list. If we had a klog note "worked on x as well" that just looked for an active entry and add an entry summary I'd be happy.
