Improve the churn rate of the tour  #72

Description

Based on the analytics, we've observed that around 39% of users proceed beyond the first lesson. We want to improve this rate.

Possible Causes:

  • After reading the first lesson the users might realize that the tour is not for them.
  • Difficulty finding the solution for the first lesson
  • The analytics script is not capturing the page views properly (less likely)

Possible Solutions:

  • Observe the analytics which is specific for the uses who leave after the first lesson (The time they spent, the events they trigger etc.) to find the more Causes they leave the tour.
  • Experiment with the UI - next button, solution button etc.
  • Experiment with the content of the First lesson
  • The Tour is for developers with 0 experience in JSON Schema and probably most of them have experience on it. If that is true we can add small survey in the beginning to better understand the user experience and suggest them start in advanced sections. Give direct links to the chapters in the landing page
  • Provide a tour to the user interface

The average session duration is around 6 minutes. The churn rate and session duration can be correlated with each other
