map action on a key with a modifier

Is it possible to remap key with a modifier (like ctrl+j) to an action (like (macro-repeat down))? Or at least make defoverrides remaps repeat while holding. I guess its possible by creating custom layer for control key, but i feel like there is a better way, although i wasn't able to find anything

Can try defchordsv2 or as you say make lctl be a layer+mod - see multi documentation.

Didn't really get how i could use defchordsv2 here, but by using custom layer with multi action i was able to make it work exactly as i wanted, thanks for the answer!
