1.21.6 Support

Sorry to disturb all the developers~ Minecraft Java 1.21.6 update has been released, including the important and interesting content update Happy Ghast , which is widely loved by all Minecraft players so day long, so we are eager to run this mod on the new version of the fabric server as soon as possible.

We hope that this mod could be adapted if you have spare time, thank you for your dedication and hard work! ❤️

Yes, I’m very much looking forward to it too, but porting 1.21.6 is particulary difficult. Mojang has overhauled functionalities around rendering.

It’s no longer possible to specify RGBA value in a batch using com.mojang.blaze3d.system.RenderSystem#setShaderColor, so we need to write individual mix-ins for each of the rendering functions that are prepared for each block. The “HudOpacity” feature has not yet been ported.
I think this issue faces the same focus as #375 .

I have a branch in my repo that works with 1.21.6, although incomplete. I have not yet created a pull for the above reasons.

Mod note on branch port/hud-opacity-1.21.6:

• Create a new class extends ItemRenderState, named me.juancarloscp52.bedrockify.client.features.hudOpacity.render.item.ItemAlphaRenderState.
• Replace ItemRenderState.LayerRenderState#render with modded method and pass the most significant 8 bits of an int value as an alpha value.

Issues:

• int overlay won’t work (zero alpha: transparent).
• int light won’t work (zero alpha: transparent).
• Banner block has no effect.

Next step:

• Adopt/Think about a different approach.

For the moment I think i'm happy with releasing a beta version with hud opacity disabled so that people can enjoy bedrockify. What do you think?

Of course. Maybe this function are not needed by many people, I think.

Hi Juan, yeah I think so too.

I’ll organize the commits a bit and force push them to the same branch. When I’m ready, I’ll create a pull.

Already want to thank you guys for all this work on update Bedrockify, specially knowing how much mod-breaking changes Mojang is introducing in those minor versions (that once upon a time were actually small feature updates or just bug fixes).

That said, i would totally be available to test a beta build without the HUD opacity, specially that for me that feature isn't much important for my gameplay tbh
