Update version in shims path

Several apps have shim paths that contain versions:
aescrypt-cli
ruby
wix

I would want to add shims for those apps, but they have their version in the path:
python3
gvim

I think that it would be good to think of a way of updating the shim paths. A simple version substitution won't work because versions in paths are in all kind of non standard formats: majorminorbugfix, major.minor, majorminor, etc.
