Multi-action menu items

Hello!

It it possible currently to set up multi-action items? For example, execute a custom command and perform a hotkey combo.
I am a new user, but I could not find a setting for this yet.

(but I think this could benefit all environments)

My ultimate goal is to set up haptic feedback for my Logitech MX Master 4 mouse. The mouse can give you haptic feedback, and I can send these haptic vibration to the mouse with a command on Linux. So I'd like to set up haptic vibraton whenever I click any menuitem.

If a command could be specified for a submenu as well, then I could have haptic feedback whenever a submenu is opened! That would be so good.

Currently, this is not possible. Technically, it could be possible, but it would require a major redesign of the UI. I'm not sure how the configuration of such a menu item would look like.

I guess it would be best if each menu item would be a multi-action item by default, like an empty container. And then different actions would need to be added to those containers. But yeah this not only requires a redesign of the settings, but also of how the menus are stored on disk.

So while being a nice feature, I guess it will not happen too soon...

Like now? Not really. Well, you could modify the source code, then this could be possible. But until we have some sort of plugin system, this will be more or less impossible.

Ha, was just searching for this kind of feature.

Essentially, I'd like to use Kando to visualize my 2D workspace movements in Hyprland. The layout is just workspace 1-9 with a script that goes left/right by moving +-1 and up/down by moving +- 3 and different animations (it's in my dotfiles if anyone's curious). Since people started using my dotfiles, I'd like to visualize the movements with Kando - either relative movements (4/8 directions) or absolute positions (8 directions with the central one selected upon release? idk).

The multi action menu items would come in handy for the relative version, where you'd already move to the workspace and keep the menu open, so you could also still cancel out of the movement. For the time being, you could do this without the submenus and just spawn another instance, though the submenus feel like a nicer solution.

The haptic feedback also sounds like a great idea and use case for this feature! Maybe a small temporary escape hatch that can execute a command when you navigate to a submenu could be offered, until a better solution is implemented?
